Murder Investigation Underway After Man Stabbed In Ongar

The scene was sealed off and preserved overnight ahead of a technical exam.

A murder investigation is underway after a man died following an assault in West Dublin, it happened yesterday evening in Ongar.

A row broke out between two men yesterday evening at around 7pm on Main street in Ongar.

One of the men, who was in his 40s, was stabbed and taken to Connolly Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The scene was sealed off and preserved overnight ahead of a technical exam.

A family liason officer has been appointed to the family of the victim - who it's understood was known to the homeless services

Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

They particularly want to speak to anyone who was in the area between half six and seven yesterday evening or any drivers who may have dash cam footage.
