New Restrictions Leaving Performers Bereft

Singer Mary Coughlan among those concerned with reintroduction of rules

New Covid-19 restrictions coming into place on Tuesday sees the reintroduction of rigid rules across bars, restaurants and hotels.

There's now a maximum of six per table, with no multiple bookings and mask wearing when away from tables while nightclubs will have to close until January.

NPHET has also advised that visits in private homes over the coming weeks should be kept to a total of four households.

50 per cent capacity at entertainment and cultural events has been described as 'another devastating day for the industry' by the Music and Entertainment Association.
