A significant number of people under the age of 65 who live with a disability, are living in homes against their wishes.
Younger people are living "wasted lives" in nursing homes due to a lack of State support, that's according to the Ombudsman.
Ombudsman, Peter Tyndall, says a significant number of individuals under the age of 65 who live with a disability, are living in homes against their wishes.
Tyndall noted many believed their stay was temporary, and some with disabilities did not give informed consent about being placed in a facility long-term.
There are over 1,300 people under 65 living in nursing homes.
