The incident was raised in the Seanad yesterday.
Gardaí have made contact with (LGBTQIA+) advocacy groups, after reports that a gang armed with knives chased after three gay men in Dublin's Phoenix Park on Monday.
The incident was raised in the Seanad yesterday, when Fine Gael Senator Barry Ward reported one of the men had contacted him about the alleged attack.
Gardaí say they're aware of an alleged incident, but say no formal report has been made.
Senator Ward says there needs to be patrols in the park to keep people safe.
