Brian Meehan is now seeking to be transferred from Wheatfield Prison to Shelton Abbey Open Jail, which will entitle him to day release.
Veronica's brother Jimmy says only the Minister of Justice can grant Mr Meehan's full release from jail, which he hopes will never happen:

The Criminal Assets Bureau was established in the wake of Vernoica Guerin's killing.
