Annual Kildare GAA Convention Takes Place In St Conleth's Park Tonight

It gets underway at 7.30pm

The 137th Annual Kildare GAA convention takes place in Cedral St Conleth’s Park tonight at 7.30pm.

Among the items on the agenda is the election of a new County Chairman, with Bryan Murphy of Clane and Mick Mullen of Celbridge the two names on the ballot paper, as Mick Gorman’s five year tenure is up.

Nominated for the position of Vice-Chair is Rathangan's Larry Curtin, who has been the Leinster Council delegate for the past five years and he is joined by Maynooth’s Colm Nolan, a former Hurling Board Chairman.

Christine Murray will be returned as Secretary, Alan Dunney as Treasurer and Lorraine Woulfe as PRO.

Tomorrow morning’s Kildare Today programme will have a full report on tonight’s convention.
