They were both knocked out at the semi final stage

There was no joy for Naas and Leixlip hurlers over the weekend.

In Saturday’s AIB Leinster club senior hurling semi final, Naas trailed by a single point in injury time, but lost by 2-14 to 17 points.

Two goals in the opening 2nd half 5 minutes for Na Fianna were the undoing of Naas.

Yesterday, Leixlip senior hurlers were beaten 4-14 to 3-8 by Offaly’s Carraig Riverstown in the Leinster Junior semi final

Leixlip trailed by one point at half time: 1-6 to 1-5, but two Carraig goals in the first ten minutes of the 2nd half did the damage.

This morning’s Kildare Today will review the weekend Naas and Leixlip games at 10.45.

It’s the turn of the Naas footballers next Saturday, when they play champions Kilmacud Crokes in the senior final in Croke Park.

That game throws in at 2.15pm.

Also, next Saturday, Allenwood play Dublin’s Scoil Uí Chonaill in the Leinster Intermediate final in Parnell Park at 1pm.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Milltown play Glyde Rangers of Louth in the Junior decider in Manguard Park, Hawkfield.

Throw in for that one is at 1.30pm.

Kfm will have full commentary of all three games.
