GAA

The countdown is on to a big game in St Conleth’s Park on Sunday.

Glenn Ryan’s footballers play Meath in the Allianz National Football League, in what will be the final game at the county grounds before its redevelopment.

Throw in is at 2pm and Kfm will be broadcasting live from Newbridge, with full commentary of the match in association with Hanlon Concrete Products, Robertstown.

 

The Kildare ladies footballers play Wexford in the Lidl NFL on Sunday.

The match in Hawkfield throws in at 2pm.

On Saturday, Joe Quaid’s camogie side are in a Division 3A League semi final.

They play Carlow in Abbottstown at 12 midday.

This morning’s Kildare Today will preview all the local sport from 10.45, while the Sports Preview Show with Paul Power from 6.30 will have a more in depth look ahead.

Last night, Carlow GAA announced former Kildare defender Peter McConnon as the upcoming Head of Operations in the county.

The former Round Towers player is now involved with Palatine at club level.
