Busy weekend on the Kildare GAA & LGFA front
GAELIC GAMES
Kildare mens U20 footballers are into the semi-final of the Eirgrid Leinster U20 Football Championship.
Last night they played Laois in Manguard Plus Hawkfield.
Kildare led by 9 points in the early stages, just holding on in the closing stages under huge Laois pressure.
They will now play Offaly in Tullamore, next Thursday.

On Saturday Kildare senior hurlers play London in the second round of the Christy Ring Cup.
The game in St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge throws-in at 2.30pm.
KFM will have full commentary with Ger McNally in association with Hanlon Concrete Robertstown.

On Sunday Kildare womens footballers play Wexford in the first round of the TG4 Leinster Intermediate Championship.
Tara Byrne will have rolling updates from Manguard Plus Hawkfield.
The game throws-in at 2pm.

On bank holiday Monday, Kildare's womens minor footballers play Meath in the second round of the minor championship.
The game throws-in at 2pm in Pairc Tailteann, Navan.

Declan Rice was on the scoresheet as West Ham booked themselves a Europa League semi-final last night.
The Hammers were impressive 3-0 winners away to Lyon to complete a 4-1 aggregate victory.

West Ham will now play Eintracht Frankfurt in those semi-finals, after they shocked Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Barca staged their comeback too late, with a pair of late goals meant they lost 3-2 on the night, 4-3 on aggregate.
Kemar Roofe’s extra-time goal saw Rangers advance at the expense of nine-man Braga at Ibrox.
The Scottish champions won 3-1 on the night, and 3-2 on aggregate, and will play RB Leipzig in the semis.

Derry City hold a six-point lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division ahead of tonight’s visit of Shelbourne.
Second plays third at Tallaght Stadium where Shamrock Rovers host St. Pat’s.
Sligo Rovers make the trip to Oriel Park to face Dundalk.
Bohemians entertain Finn Harps, and bottom side UCD play Drogheda.
RUGBY
Connacht head coach Andy Friend is confident they can overturn a five-point first leg deficit this evening.
They travel to the Aviva for the second leg of their Heineken Champions Cup tie with Leinster.

GOLF
Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell are just three off the lead going into the second round at the RBC Heritage.
Both opened with 5-under par rounds of 66.
