Manager Glenn Ryan & Captain Mick O'Grady spoke to 'Kildare Today'
Kildare's inter county players & staff across the Gaelic Games codes in the county are becoming blood donors & encouraging others in their clubs to do so.
Kildare GAA note the scheme is "promoted by the urgent need for more blood donations to meet demand. One in four people will need a blood transfusion in their lifetime."
The project was initiated by Kildare men's Senior Football team & quickly supported by the county's Senior Hurling, Senior Camogie & Senior Ladies Football teams.
A clinic has been organised for inter-county players & management to become donors - if eligible.
The clinic is running in Sarsfields GAA Club, Newbridge, on the 3rd November.
In a statement on the issue, Kildare GAA said "metaphorically players give 'blood, sweat & tears' to play the sport they love, now they are taking on the task of giving blood to someone who is loved".
Manager Glenn Ryan & Captain Mick O'Grady spoke to Kildare Today's Eoin Beatty on Wednesday morning:
To see if you are eligible to donate, take a brief quiz on the Irish Blood Transfusion Services website.
Clinic information in Co. Kildare, can also be found here.
The next clinic in the county (aside from the one mentioned above) is taking place in the Community Centre on Whelan Street in Monasterevin, on Thursday, 10th November.
