Kildare Hurlers On The Cusp Of Promotion To Division 1B

Brian Dowling's side beat Tyrone on Saturday

Second in Division 2 Kildare hurlers had a 2-34 to 0-8 points win over bottom side Tyrone on Saturday.

Yesterday, Down beat Kerry in Tralee by 0-28 to 1-23.

That result and Derry's win over Meath by 1-27 to 1-23 has Kildare on the cusp of promotion to Division 1B next season.
Currently, on the table, after 5 games, with one to go, Down lead on 10 points and are promoted to Division 1B, Kildare have 8 points

Meath have 4 points, but have two games left - Meath's last one will be at home to Kildare in a fortnight.

If Meath win their two remaining games including beating Kildare, they would be promoted, because if teams finish on level points, promotion will be decided on the head to head between the sides.

But, if Meath lose their next game away to promoted Down next Sunday, Kildare will be promoted, irrespective of the final game between the sides.
