Star player for Kildare was Neasa Dooley

Kildare women footballers won their opening All Ireland Intermediate Group match yesterday, beating Rosommon 1-11 to 1-7 in Ballinasloe

Star player for Kildare was Neasa Dooley, who scored an 8th minute penalty and 5 points.

Lara Curran also had 5 points, while Aoife Rattigan got Kildare’s other point.

A win against their league final conquerors Laois next week will book a quarter final spot for the Lilywhites.

This morning’s Kildare Today will review the game, along with Saturday’s minor football win and the senior hurlers last-puck-of-the-game loss to Westmeath
