Tributes to late Liam Kearns; Kildare hurlers unbeaten in 15 games; Farrell on Ireland Injuries; Scheffler World No. 1

Tributes are being paid to Offaly football manager Liam Kearns, who died suddenly yesterday.

The Kerry native's passing was confirmed last night.

Kearns was appointed as Offaly manager last August, having previously managed Limerick, Laois and Tipperary.

Kildare hurlers have extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 15 games.

Following Saturday’s Division 2A League win over Kerry, David Herity’s side are guaranteed at least a home semi final.

Next Sunday, Kildare play joint table toppers Offaly in Tullamore, with the winners getting a final spot.

Kfm will have full commentary on the game from 1pm, followed by commentary of Glenn Ryan’s footballers vs Limerick, in association with Hanlon Concrete, Robertstown.

England centre Ollie Lawrence has been ruled out of Saturday's Six Nations clash with Ireland because of a hamstring injury picked up the injury during Saturday's 53-10 loss to France at Twickenham.

Manu Tuilagi is available having completed his suspension for dangerous play.

==
Andy Farrell is hopeful that Caelan Doris and Dan Sheehan will be fit for the Grand Slam clash against England next Saturday.

Ireland lost Caelan Doris, Dan Sheehan and Iain Henderson in the first half and Ronan Kelleher and Garry Ringrose in the second half.

Ronan Kelleher’s shoulder injury and Ian Henderson’s wrist injury will keep both out of the England game.

====================

World Rugby want players to use the "belly tackle' technique in the community game to stop an increasing amount of head injuries.

It would mean any contact above the sternum would be seen as foul play.

=====

Scottie Scheffler is back at the top of golf's world rankings.

The 26-year-old American was the winner of The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass last night.

Shane Lowry posted a final round of 70 to end the week on four-under and in a tie for 35th.
