GAELIC GAMES
Kildare's hurlers gave their survival chances a boost in Division 2A of the Allianz National Hurling League, with a draw against Carlow in St. Conleth's Park yesterday, finishing 2-14 to 20 points.
Kildare trailed for a large part of the game, but fought back, scoring two goals through Brian Byrne and Gerry Keegan - leading by a point going into injury time.
However, Chris Nolan levelled matters for Carlow with the last puck of the game, in the fifth minute of injury time.
Next up for Kildare is a home game against Westmeath in two weeks time.
The Lillies sit on three points, above Meath on two points and with one team going down, that will be Meath if they lose to Carlow in their next game.
