Kildare U20's are through to the All Ireland Final after beating Down
GAA
It can’t be more dramatic than when a last kick of the game puts your side into an All Ireland Final.
Such was Jack McKevitt’s wonder point for Kildare in Saturday evening’s All Ireland semi final win over Down by 1-11 to 2-7.
Kildare will play Sligo in the final on Saturday afternoon in Breifne Park, Cavan. (fixed for 2.45, but reports it will be at 1.30 due to hurlers vital game vs Down at 5.30pm).
Kfm will have full commentary with our semi final sponsor Johnstownbridge Service Station, Workwear and Topline Store.
Nationally, Galway are Connacht champions after an easy 2-20 to 0-12 win over Sligo. They play Tyrone next.
Kerry are Munster champions after beating Clare by 5-14 to 0-15; they play Mayo next.

Kildare hurlers and Laois met in the Joe McDonagh Cup in Portlaoise on Saturday.
Laois won easily by 1-23 to 0-11.
The result was incidental for Kildare, with survival in the Joe McDonagh Cup for next year, hinging on next weekend’s game at home to Down.
Next weekend’s game against Down is scheduled for Saturday at 5pm.
Kfm understands that Kildare turned down a request from Down to reschedule the game to Sunday. However, with the U20 footballers in the All Ireland final a couple of hours earlier in Cavan, the hurling game will probably be rescheduled to Sunday, or another weekend.
LADIES FOOTBALL
Following their decisive 1st round Leinster Intermediate championship win over Carlow, the Kildare Women footballers hosted Longford in Hawkfield yesterday.
At half time, Kildare lead by 1-9 to 0-1
It was another easy win for Kildare FT 3-14 to 2-5.
Kildare’s biggest concern now is the ankle injury to captain Grace Clifford after 2 mins of yesterday’s game, following a tangle of legs with an opponent.
Initial fears are that she could be out of action for 6 to 12 weeks.
Kildare are away to Wexford for next Sundays Round 3 game. Kildare have qualified for the semi final and next Sundays game will determine who tops the group.
