SOCCER
Manchester City can cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table to five points if they record a fifth straight victory this evening.
The champions visit bottom side Southampton, who could move within a point of safety if they win.
Manchester United will climb to third - for a short time at least - if they beat struggling Everton in the early kick-off - but would be overtaken again by Newcastle should they seal all three points away at Brentford.
It's fifth versus sixth when Tottenham face Brighton, while there are several huge matches at the wrong end of the table among the other 3 o'clock kick-offs.
Anything other than a point for Nottingham Forest against Aston Villa would see them fall into the relegation zone, as Leicester and Bournemouth - who are currently in the bottom three - go head-to-head.
Frank Lampard makes his return as Chelsea interim boss when they go to Wolves and West Ham hope to ease some of the pressure on manager David Moyes when they take on Fulham.
Shamrock Rovers beat Dublin rivals Bohemians 2-0 in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division at Dalymount Park last night.
RUGBY
Kildare’s Jimmy O'Brien was among the try scorers as Leinster beat Leicester by 55-points-to-24 in their Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final at the Aviva Stadium last night.
Leo Cullen’s men will now play either Toulouse or the Sharks, who meet in France this afternoon.
