The Treaty are going for their third Liam McCarthy in a row while Brian Cody's men are seeking their first title since 2015.

There's no Cian Lynch for Limerick this afternoon as the 2021 Hurler of the Year is out with a twisted ankle.

Yesterday, the Kildare camogie side preserved their All Ireland Intermediate Championship status, with a victory over Laois in the relegation final.

Kildare were trailing at half time, but came back in the second half and forced it to extra time.

The full time score was 4-15 to 4-11.

Rory McIlroy is aiming to become just the second Irishman to win the Open twice today.

The Northern Irishman is joint top of the leaderboard with Viktor Hovland on 16 under par ahead of the final day at St Andrews.

A victory for McIlroy would see him join Padraig Harrington with two Open wins and would be his 5th Major title.

There are two games down for decision in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division this afternoon.

There's a North West Derby at Finn Park as Derry City travel to take on Finn Harps.

Kick off there is at 6pm while at the same time Sligo Rovers play host to UCD.

World number 2 Sweden are looking to top their group at the Women's European Championships this evening.

They take on Portugal in Group C at 5pm.

The Netherlands currently lead the group on goal difference and take on Switzerland also at 5pm.

Northern Ireland pair Brendan Dolan and Daryl Gurney are both in action at the World Matchplay tournament this afternoon.

World number 23 Dolan takes on Dutchman Danny Noppert at 2pm while Gurney faces Gary Anderson of Scotland at 3pm.

There is racing at both the Curragh and Tipperary this afternoon.

The first of the 8 races goes to post in Kildare at 1:40pm while the action in Tipperary gets underway ten minutes later.
