SOCCER
The Republic of Ireland have been handed a major boost ahead of Thursday's World Cup opener against Australia.
Denise O'Sullivan will take a full part in training tomorrow, having come through another session today.
The midfielder had been a major doubt for Thursday's match, after sustaining a shin injury in the friendly with Colombia last Friday.
But it now appears the Cork native will be available for selection.

Icelandic champions Breidablik take a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their Champions League qualifier with Shamrock Rovers tonight.
The sides meet again, seven days on from the first leg of their first round tie at Tallaght Stadium.
Rovers will be without Jack Byrne and Neil Farrugia, with both players on the injury list.
Kick off this evening is at 8.15pm, with a meeting with Copenhagen in the second round the prize for the winners.

The English Football League has approved a takeover of Leeds United by 49ers Enterprises.
The American investment group, which owns American Football franchise the San Francisco 49ers, has taken control from chairman and majority shareholder Andrea Radrizzani.
The deal is thought to be worth around 170-million pounds.
Paraag Marathe will replace Radrizzani as chair.

Tallaght’s Rhasidat Adeleke makes her professional debut this evening.
The 20-year old is in the field for the 200-metres event at the Hungarian stop on the Continental Tour.
Adeleke will come up against reigning 200-metre world champion Shericka Jackson.
That race takes place at 6pm.

Jonas Vingegaard takes a 10-second lead into today’s individual time trial on the Tour de France.
Stage 16 includes a second category climb on the 22-kilometre route from Passy to Combloux.
