The South African second row has been ruled out of this week's final game of the regular season, after suffering a concussion in last weekend’s win against the Stormers.
Munster have confirmed the signing of centre Sean O'Brien from Exeter on a two year deal.
The 24 years old Westmeath native previously played for Connacht and the Ireland under 20's.

Rally driver Craig Breen was laid to rest today following a funeral Mass in Ferrybank.
Breen died following a test driving crash last Thursday, while preparing for the World Rally Championship's Croatia Rally.
The 33-year-old was due to make his second WRC appearance of the season in Croatia after finishing an impressive second at the Rally Sweden in February.
