FAI CEO Jonathan Hill has asked all factions within Irish football to make the aims of their Strategy document a reality.

The document set forth the aim of introducing a coherent football pyramid, including the introduction of a third tier to the League of Ireland.

The expansion of the women's game to 750 clubs is also among the document's key points.

As are the senior men's and women's teams qualifying for their next major tournaments.

Shelbourne manager Damien Duff completed his squad for the new season by signing Jordan McEneff on loan from Arsenal.

The midfielder will spend the season on loan at the Tolka Park club.

He's the younger brother of Hearts winger, Aaron McEneff.

WINTER OLYMPICS

Elsa Desmond says she's determined to enjoy her final run in the Women's Singles Luge in China this morning.

The Irish competitor is 34th overall following yesterday's first two runs.

Only the top-20 qualify for the final run.

Jack Gower did not finish in the men's Super G Alpine Skiing contest.

RUGBY

Ireland ramp up their preparations today for Saturday's Six Nations trip to France.

Head coach Andy Farrell will be hoping no one else joins Keith Earls and Rob Herring on the absentee list.

Earls' hamstring injury rules him out of travelling to Paris, while Herring has a calf problem and his place in the squad has gone to Connacht's Dave Heffernan.
