Liam Cahill is the new manager of the Tipperary senior hurlers.
He succeeds Colm Bonnar, who left the role last week.
Cahill stepped down as Waterford boss last week after three years in charge.
He has previously guided the Premier County to All Ireland titles at underage level.
Bonnar's club Cashel King Cormacs have expressed their "great disgust" at the way Bonnar's departure was announced by the Tipperary County Board.
