Fixture confirmed for Kildare v Dublin game

GAA

Kildare's second round robin game with Dublin in the All-Ireland series will throw-in at 5pm on Saturday week, June 3rd  in UPMC Nowlan Park, Kilkenny.

Nowlan Park is Kildare's choice as home venue due to St Conleth's Park being closed for redevelopment.

The Bank Holiday weekend will have the busiest championship programme ever with all 32 league teams in action over both days for the first time, in the Sam Maguire and Tailteann Cups.

SOCCER

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe says the club has achieved Champions League qualification "ahead of schedule".

They secured their place in Europe's top competition for the first time in 20 years with a goalless draw against Leicester in the Premier League last night.

When Howe arrived at St James' Park 18 months ago, they were in relegation danger.

Leicester are two points from safety ahead of their final game of the season against West Ham on Sunday.

The Republic of Ireland bid for a quarter-final spot at the Under-17 European Championships this evening.

Juventus could miss out on European football entirely this season.

Italy’s Federal Court of Appeal imposed a 10-point penalty on the Turin club for falsely inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains.

The ruling came immediately before Juve’s 4-1 defeat away to Empoli which leaves them seventh in Serie A.

BOXING

Amanda Serrano says a rematch with Katie Taylor is 'off the table'.

The undisputed featherweight champion was due to face Taylor this past weekend, before a hand injury opened up an opportunity for Chantelle Cameron.

With Cameron beating Taylor, Serrano says she’s at peace with the rematch not happening.

CYCLING

Eddie Dunbar is eighth in general classification as the Giro D'Italia resumes today.

The Cork man sets out on Stage 16, with a category-one climb up Monte Bondone part of the route.

Dunbar is 3-minutes and 40-seconds behind the pink jersey of Bruno Armirail.

The 15-time major winner is still recovering from the operation he had on his ankle in April.

Woods will hope to be fit for July's Open Championship at Royal Liverpool
