42 players in Premier League have tested positive for Covid-19 in past week

The Premier League has postponed tonight's game between Manchester United and Brentford in London.
It follows an outbreak of Covid-19 in the United squad which has seen the club's Carrington training ground closed.

In the past week 42 Premier League players and staff have tested positive for the virus.
The numbers of infections recorded has forced the Premier League to re-impose their emergency measures, with mask-wearing indoors, social distancing and more frequent testing.
There are two matches which will proceed this evening.
Leaders Manchester City will go four points clear at the top of the table, if they beat Leeds United.
That game kicks off at the Etihad Stadium at 8pm.
While Norwich City host Aston Villa at Carrow Road from 7.45pm.

Government ministers are to meet with the IRFU, following claims in a letter from current and ex-players that the union is 'untrustworthy'.
62 players sought government intervention to end what they call 'multiple cycles of substandard commitment' from the IRFU.
In response, the IRFU has criticised the letter's tenor and timing.
Ministers Catherine Martin and Jack Chambers say they are also open to meeting the players, while asking Sport Ireland to make contact.

Both Leinster and Montpellier are waiting nervously to see if Friday's Heineken Champions Cup game can go ahead.

They are due to meet in France on Friday night.
