UPMC Senior Hurling Championships Continue Today

While racing is on at the Curragh this afternoon

The main focus in local GAA this weekend is on the UPMC Senior Hurling Championships.
Today, in the Winners Group, the fixtures are as follows:
Eire Og Corra Choill v Naas at 2 o’clock
Celbridge v Confey at 3.30
In the Losers Group, Coill Dubh play Ardclough at 5
All three games are in Hawkfield.
Also in Hawkfield at 5, Naas play Moorefield in the B Championship and at 3.30, Maynooth play Kilcock.
Last night's results are as follows:
Leixlip 1-12 and Maynooth 4-2.
Clane 19 points, and Broadford 7 points.

The Kildare camogie side play Carlow in the All Ireland Championship semi final this afternoon.
The game throws-in in Abbotstown at 2 o'clock.

SOCCER

Despite European success in midweek, Shamrock Rovers were beaten 1-nil away to Dublin rivals Bohemians in the second round of the FAI Cup.

GOLF

In the British Open Rory McIlroy's wait for a fifth major golf title goes on after he missed the cut at the Open Championship.
He ended his second round on 11-over par at Royal Troon.
Ireland's Shane Lowry is the clubhouse leader on 7-under.

PITCH AND PUTT

Ryston Pitch and Putt hosts the Irish Open today, with National and International players taking part.
Darren Keogh, Chairman of Ryston will update us throughout the weekend.

RACING

The Juddmonte Irish Oaks is the feature of an eight-race card at The Curragh this afternoon.
The big race is off at twenty-to-4, with an eight-race card commencing at 1.30.
