Mikey Johnston receives play for the Republic of Ireland; Two more quarter final places are on the line in the Champions League tonight; Lightweight rowing could be off the schedule for the LA Olympics

SOCCER

Two more quarter final places are on the line in the Champions League tonight.

Antonio Conte is back in the dug-out for Tottenham Hotspur, who host AC Milan in North London.

The Italian champions are 1-0 up from the first leg.

Bayern Munich also have a 1-0 lead over PSG with the second leg in Germany.

Neymar is an injury absentee for the Parisians.

Both games kick off at 8.

Celtic winger Mikey Johnston has received international clearance by FIFA to play for the Republic of Ireland.

The 23 year old, who was born in Glasgow, qualifies via his grandfather, who was from Derry.

Johnston is now available for the Republic of Ireland's matches with Latvia and France later this month.

The player won Scottish Cup titles with Celtic in 2019 and 2020 and is currently on loan with Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.

OLYMPICS

Lightweight rowing could be off the schedule for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Paul and Gary O'Donovan won silver for Ireland in the lightweight double sculls at Rio in 2016, while Fintan McCarthy and Paul O'Donovan won gold at the same event in Tokyo two years ago.

Meanwhile, the Olympic Federation of Ireland are confident boxing will be on the programme for next year's Games in Paris but Ireland's most successful Olympic sport could be cut for LA in 2028.
