SOCCER
It's been confirmed that Eileen Gleeson will take charge of the Republic of Ireland women's team on an interim basis.
She will lead the players into the Nations League games against Northern Ireland and Hungary at the end of next month.
Gleeson is the current FAI Head of Women and Girls' Football and was a former assistant to Vera Pauw.
It emerged last night that Dutchwoman Pauw - who guided the team to the World Cup finals - would not be offered a new contract.
Elsewhere, Djed Spence has joined Championship club Leeds United on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
In the Carabao Cup tonight, Chelsea host Wimbledon, Everton go to Doncaster, Nottingham Forest host Burnley, Sheffield United are at home to Lincoln City and it's Harrogate Town versus Blackburn Rovers.
