1,721 people in Kildare have been affected by the rate band changes introduced to the State pension from 2012
These pensioners are now receiving less that the full State payment.
The changes affect those who qualified for contributory pension after September date, and only those who had an average of between 10 and 39 contributions per year.
Of those affected in Kildare, 1,166 are women and 555 are men.
Nationally, 38,191 people are receiving reduced payments.
The data was released by the Dept. of Social Protection, following a written question posed by Sinn Fein's John Brady.
