The Annual County Board GAA Convention will take place this evening, in the Osprey Hotel, Naas.

Kildare senior football champions Moorefield wind down preparations this evening ahead of Sunday’s AIB Leinster Club final against St. Loman’s Westmeath in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise at 2pm.

St Loman’s are managed by former Moorefield manager Luke Dempsey.

Kfm will have full commentary of the final, with Ger McNally and Peter McConnon, in association with Shay Dowling Carpets, Unit W4C, Ladytown Business Park, Newhall, Naas.

Our coverage begins at the earlier time of 1.30pm and we’ll preview the game tomorrow morning on Kildare Today at 10.45 and again in the Weekend Preview segment at 6.25pm

The former Southampton and Reading manager has agreed an 18 month deal to become the Tigers fifth manager in 17 months.



The Irish Independent is reporting that French Top 14 club Montpellier is to offer CJ Stander a big-money transfer. 

Negotiations are ongoing between Stander's representatives and the IRFU in an effort to keep the player at home.

The initial offer from the Union is believed to be below what the player expected.

Stander joined Munster in 2012 and qualified to play for Ireland in 2016.  He has 18 caps to date.


Gavin Moynihan lies on 1 over par after the turn on Day 1 of the Joburg Open in South Africa.

He is 9 shots behind the leader Davidse Keenan.

Willie Mullins trained Douvan and Un De Sceaux will not go to post in the Betfair Tingle Creek at Sandown on Saturday.

Douvan still holds entries in Sunday's John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase and, also in Cork.

Last season's Tingle Creek winner Un De Sceaux is, also entered in the John Durkan at Punchestown on Sunday
